Why are my macros different when I activate a meal plan?

Why your food diary macros are different to your target macros

Updated over a week ago

When you activate a meal plan, your macro targets might look a little different — and that’s totally okay.

Here's why:

Your targets in your food diary adjust to reflect the average macro breakdown of all the recipes combined in your selected meal plan.

Do I still need to hit my original macro targets?

Nope! Once a meal plan is active, you don’t need to worry about hitting your macros manually.

Just choose your meals from the plan. That’s it.

Each recipe has a different macro profile — some are higher in carbs, others in protein or fat — so your daily macro split will shift slightly depending on what you pick. That’s expected.

The good news?

All the meals are designed to keep you within an acceptable macro range — no matter how you mix and match.

Just focus on this:

  • Follow the meal plan

  • Choose recipes you enjoy

  • Stick with it consistently

  • Don’t exceed your calorie budget (you won’t, as long as you only pick meals from the plan)

That’s it — you’re on track.

Want to remove your meal plan and go back to macro tracking only?
